Weyburn Inland Terminal Ltd.

WIT

Weyburn Inland Terminal is a farmer-owned and managed inland terminal and grain condominium complex located on CP Rail’s Soo Line near Weyburn, Saskatchewan. The business opened in November of 1976 after a group of 1,450 farmers/shareholders decided it was necessary to construct their own facility with the principles of economies of scale and leading-edge technology in mind, in order to improve the existing grain-handling and transportation system. The original facility held a million bushels and through additions over the years the main Weyburn site now has approximately 4.15 million bushels of storage capacity.

WIT has made significant investments in helping customers maximize their efficiency. The company provides dry, liquid, and NH3 fertilizer services, a full spectrum of crop protection products and has 4 agronomists on staff.

WIT operates a livestock feed pelleting facility, has a satellite elevator at Lake Alma, Saskatchewan, and owns and operates the lentil processor, Vigro Seed and Supply. In 2008, WIT also acquired a majority interest in NorAmera BioEnergy Corp., an ethanol production facility located in Weyburn. WIT is also a shareholder in Alliance See Corp. and Alliance Grain Terminal.

WIT strives to be in the forefront of change in the evolving grain industry and the company is committed to leading the way with new innovative ideas to help improve the overall efficiency of Canada’s grain-handling system. They are committed to providing services that add to the profitability of both customers and shareholders.
