Sturgeon Valley Fertilizers

Sturgeon Valley Fertilizers

Sturgeon Valley Fertilizers began with a facility in St. Albert, Alberta in 1976 by Larry Laird and Roger Henry. The original facility consisted of a small office, fertilizer storage, and a blending facility and shop. New buildings and structures have been added as business demanded. In 1986 the northern trade area had grown to a point where it was now feasible to open a second facility, so Sturgeon Valley opened a location in Legal. The company grew from 6 full-time employees to 40.

Sturgeon Valley’s mission is, with their honest, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic people, who are the strength of their business, to promote and deliver the Sturgeon Valley Fertilizers advantage to customers and nurture long-standing, beneficial relationships. They want to be known as a family-owned business that offers opportunities to staff for generations to come.

Sturgeon Valley Fertilizers gives back to their community through sponsorship of minor hockey, support of 4-H clubs, arena upgrades sponsorships in Legal and Morinville, bull riding sponsorships, and Food Grains Bank donation of products.
