Kevin Blair

Kevin Blair was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and grew up in Drake on a mixed grain farm. He grew up in the ag business and went to the University of Saskatchewan to further study it. He met his wife Noreen on June 30th, 1984 and they were married on May 28th, 1988. They now have three boys: Bradley, Dustin, and Garrett and live in Lanigan, Saskatchewan.
The family business was always a big part of Kevin’s life, to the point where it shaped his interests, education, and even how he met his wife. He decided to take a job there as a third generation family employee with the job of truck driver. Like everybody else he packed wheel bearings, drove truck, and worked in the shop. His plan from the beginning was to do all the jobs at the ground level and start taking on more responsibilities every season to work his way up. Everything worked out to plan and Kevin became CEO in 2003. He is now a 50/50 partner in the business with his cousin, Darren.
Kevin says that growing and maintaining the family business means a lot to him because he knew how passionate his grandfather was about agriculture. He told Kevin not to be afraid to spend his career in agriculture because it’s a great and rewarding place to be. Now, everything that Kevin does is based on his own belief and passion for agriculture and he can’t imagine doing anything else.
Kevin has brought his passion to Grow Community of Independents and it is shared by his partners. He feels that together as Grow they are going to make agriculture a much better place. Kevin has said, “Agriculture is complicated and not everyone has the best interest of agriculture at heart and that’s the thing about this group. This group is highly passionate about agriculture, and I think that’s shown not only by the fact that they’re in this business, but that their plan is to stay in this business instead of taking the quick dollar and getting out.”
