Aaron Serhan

Aaron Serhan was born and raised in Porcupine Plains, Saskatchewan. He grew up on a mixed farm and always had a keen interest in agriculture.
In April of 1987, Aaron was away working in Alberta when he was notified of an opportunity to get into the retail business, and founded North Star. He decided to retail anhydrous ammonia in Prairie River, even though he had never had anything to do with it before then. The company had great support from the local growers, so he decided to add dry fertilizer in 1989 and from there has never looked back. In 1992 Aaron married his wife Teri and they now have two children, Ryley and Raelyn.
Aaron has grown his company from the original location in Prairie River to branches in Hudson Bay in 2003, Peesane in 2007, and Arborfield in 2009. Aaron is also involved in other ventures along with actively running his own farm.
Aaron is a true entrepreneurial independent who knows the value of independent businesses for small communities and believes that Grow Community of Independents will help keep their value alive. He believes that Western Canadian growers need the Independents to stay alive and thrive because they are grass roots people that live in the communities that they do business in and create a very good competitive choice to their customers that can react more quickly and responsively to all conditions quicker than the multinationals.
Grow is made up of people who have lived in local, rural communities all their lives and know what it means to be a part of them and have inserted that value into Grow. Aaron sees that Grow is not only valuable to its communities but that its communities are also valuable to Grow.
